What stays on your phone
Contacts, photos, face frames, your location, your name, phone numbers, health readings and your vital information stay on the phone. Chiami does not send them to Chiami's servers.
What the app contacts Chiami for
- A settings file (sponsors, links, messages, approved games, library lists). No personal data is sent.
- Downloads of films, books, audiobooks and backgrounds you choose. The request does not identify you.
- Checking a subscription code you type in.
- News notifications, using an anonymous Firebase token.
- One-way messages from children, only if a parent allowed it. Message text, language and app version only.
Payments
Google Play handles payments made through Google Play. For payments made on chiami.net, our payment provider (Stripe) handles card details; Chiami does not store card numbers.
Referral program (website)
If you apply to be a distributor, we collect the identity, tax and country details required by law. These are held by our payment and verification providers where possible.
Children
Kids mode needs a parent. We do not ask children for names or contact details. Messages from children are deleted after 12 months.
